Match Results

Lincoln and District Angling Association over the last six weeks have been hosting The Whisby Angling Centre Saturday League 2025.
The matches have been held on the Fossdyke Navigation on the Bridge. Roadside and Drinsey Nook sections of the canal.
Round one was held on the 18th October 25 and overall the canal fished very well, with consistent weight’s throughout the five sections.
Top man on the day was Chris White (Lincoln) with a cracking 12lb 15oz off peg 5 on the Roadside, In second place was Lincoln’s Ryan Neal with 11lb 10oz off peg 13 at Drinsey Nook with Steve Wilford in third place with 10lb 6oz off peg 1 at the Bridge.
Round Two on the 25th October 25 saw the canal fish very well at the Bridge and Drinsey Nook but very poor on the Roadside.
The winner was the very consistent Alister Oglvie (Boston) with a brilliant 15lb 14oz off peg 10 at Drinsey Nook, second place went to Ryan Neal (Lincoln) with a very close 15lb 13oz with Chris Elson (Lincoln) taking third place with 13lb 4oz off peg 2 at the Bridge.
Round Three on the 1st November 25 saw the sections at Drinsey Nook fish very poor with the Bridge and Roadside in excellent form.
It was Ben Atkinson (Lincoln) who drew favoured peg 1 at the Bridge and duly took the honours with the best weight in the league with a cracking 18lb 2oz, runner up was Paul Wilson with 14lb 3oz off peg 10 on the Roadside with Keith Higgingbottom taking third place with 13lb 2oz off peg 6 at the Bridge.
Round four was fished on the 8th November 25 and as in round one the canal fished consistent all the way though but the Bridge dominated the result.
In first place was Rob Morris off peg 4 at the Bridge with 9lb 7oz, in second place was Alister Olgvie (Boston) with a close 9lb 3oz off peg 3 at the Bridge with Alan Greory (Scunthorpe) in third place with 8lb 3oz again at the Bridge.
Round five on the 22nd November 25 saw Drinsry Nook’s form drop with no one breaking a pound on the two section there and with the Roadside not much better and with all the framing weight’s at the Bridge.
Leading the way was Ben Atkingson off peg 1 at the Bridge with 7lb 6oz, runner up was Clyde Inglis off peg 3 at the Bridge with 6lb 4oz with Alister Oglvie in third place with 3lb 11oz off peg 4 again at the Bridge.
Round six was fished on the 6th December 25 and due to a cancellation was fished in conjunction with the Frank Butler Memorial and as in the previous week it was Drinsey Nook that failed to fish with only o being caught on that section.
Once again in was the Bridge that produced the top weight’s.
Top man on the day was Alister Olgvie (Boston) who was again put in masterful performance by winning with 11lb 8oz off peg 2, in second place was Phil Chesterton (Grantham) off peg 6 with 8lb 13oz with Alan Gregory (Scunthorpe) in third place with 8lb 11oz.
The winner of the league with a consistent performance throughout was Alister Oglvie on 32 point’s, Second place went to Phil Chesterton on 29 point’s, Third place went to Dave Ashmore also with 29 point’s but a had a worse countback, in forth placs was Chris Elsom on 28 point’s with Dale Whelan a fifth place also on 28 point’s but again had a worse countback.
