Lincoln and District Angling Association hosted the first round of the Johnson and Smith Winter League on Saturday on the Fossdyke Navigation at Saxilby and Drinsey Nook.
The 19 competitor’s found the canal carrying a lot of colour but after 3 nights of frost all new it was going to be a hard day.
On the day it was Phil Chesterton (Grantham who took top honours off peg 5 at Drinsey Nook with 8lb 10oz of silvers to groundbait and pinkie, in second place was the consistent Dave Ashmore (Grimsby) with 7lb 12oz off peg 2 at Drinsey Nook again to groundbait and pinkie with Lincoln’s Graham Green fishing in third spot off peg 4 again at Drinsey Nook with 7lb 5oz.
Section winner were; A Section Gary Thompson 5lb 7oz, B Section Paul Cannon 6lb 1oz, C Section Andy Rodziewicz 4lb 5oz.
